YOUTH PARTNER: London Youth Choir
Unlocking young people’s potential through the power of choral singing!

We are pleased to support the London Youth Choir as our Youth Partner.

London Youth Choir provides children and young people living or educated across London with high-calibre singing tuition and performance opportunities. Opportunities are designed to educate and inspire, build confidence, and develop skills in teamwork and leadership; all whilst championing inclusivity and understanding.

Thank you LYC! You guys were the highlight of my week, the thing I looked forward to after every half term and I cannot thank everyone enough for brightening up my life. You have made my life that much brighter for your existence.
— Chamber Choir Member

Central to the mission of London Youth Choir is that our diverse young people would have access to inspiring and aspirational performance opportunities. We are therefore thrilled to be a performing at and partnering the forthcoming London A Cappella Festival. From family workshops, to world-class performances, LACF is an inspirational platform for choral learning and we believe our members will benefit massively from their involvement at this festival in our home city.

About London Youth Choir

LYC provides weekly choirs for young people aged 7–23.

All LYC membership fees are subsidised, and an extensive bursary scheme is available to help cover costs of fees and travel.

The choirs are split according to age and experience levels. Membership of the youth choirs provides a high-calibre, accessible musical education in a supportive and welcoming environment. Alongside technical and musicianship training and social activities, members benefit from high-level and varied performance opportunities including soundtrack recordings, television appearances and performances in iconic venues such as the Royal Albert Hall, Abbey Road Studios, Glastonbury and Wembley Stadium.

Aspire Programme
The Aspire Programme works collaboratively with schools, music hubs and cultural organisations to provide bespoke singing experiences within schools in areas observed to have limited cultural opportunity or music provision. In addition to workshops in schools, the programme hosts specialist CPD sessions for teachers and music leaders wishing to develop skills in KS2 and KS3 choral leadership, and provides talented young musicians discovered through the ASPIRE workshops with opportunities to continue to develop their musical learning through the Junior Apprenticeship Scheme. The Aspire Programme is run in conjunction with Arts Award and Friday Afternoons.
